Anyone who has pets knows that these little animals are another member of the family. So, if the whole family is moving to a new country, there is no doubt that the pet will go with them, for which they need the experience of an international moving company in Panama.
However, many questions arise about the procedures, how they will travel, and, of course, if it is safe for them.

In this note, based on our experience at Extreme Movers, we share some tips for your pet's moving day.
Where do pets travel?
Although it would be ideal to travel with pets in the cabin, not all of them can. Many airlines agree on certain acceptance criteria. For example:
-
They must be small pets, weighing less than 20 pounds.
-
They must remain in their kennel throughout the flight and not require any special assistance.
If your dog or cat does not meet these requirements, then they must travel in the cargo hold of the plane. At Extreme Movers, we offer this service, taking care of all the procedures, from the necessary certificates to transportation and delivery at the destination.
How to prepare your pet for international moves in Panama?
If you have already booked your pet's move and they are ready to travel, we give you these tips for a successful transfer.
-
About a week before the move, place the kennel or crate they will use for the trip (which complies with all necessary regulations) in the area where they usually sleep, so they get used to the place.
-
Place their bed inside and encourage them to sleep there.
-
Airlines request that the animal does not eat or drink anything 2 hours before the flight's departure.
-
Before entering the airport, take them for a walk to relieve themselves.
-
Although it can cause us anxiety if the dog is nervous during the journey, it is completely unadvisable to sedate them as this could cause their body temperature to drop during the flight.
-
Place their favorite toy and a shirt or item of yours that carries your scent.
-
Likewise, consult your veterinarian before the flight so they can give you a personalized recommendation for your pet.

Major airlines ensure that pets traveling in the cargo hold have their crates securely fastened. Additionally, they are in a space with oxygen and air that allows them to travel comfortably during the flight.
At Extreme Movers, we have sent pets to different parts of the United States, even with layovers; also to countries in Latin America, such as Colombia, and other locations in Europe, such as Spain; having extensive experience in international moving in Panama.
