Before the move
In February, when the sale of our apartment in the San Francisco area was finalized and the purchase process for our current residence began, I immediately researched moving companies. I needed the relocation for April, which was when I had to hand over my apartment to the buyer.
The move included all my personal belongings: clothes, dishes, furniture, appliances, and white goods, as well as the many toys of my two small children. The characteristic I was looking for most in this moving company in Panama was definitely that it would convey confidence to me, to entrust them with this material, yet so important, part of my life.
And that's how I found Extreme Movers: a legally established company, with its office in the Costa del Este area, with an attractive website, with many real photos of their moves, and with attention that was maintained from beginning to end.
The first time I contacted them was through a direct message on their Instagram account (@extrememoverspty). Mr. Carlos Cogollos, who is the general manager of the company, responded quickly and, after I explained what I needed, we scheduled an inspection appointment, without obligation.
Mr. Carlos visited my apartment. He asked me to guide him, room by room, showing him what needed to be moved. He made his notes, measured the largest furniture, and took pictures.
In less than 48 hours, he sent me the formal quote and, after my approval, we scheduled the move for April.
Fifteen days before the move, I sent a formal letter to the administration of the departure and arrival residences to notify them about the move and to take the necessary measures, such as preparing an elevator. In both cases, the established moving hours were from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The move
On the day of the move, a team from Extreme Movers, made up of 3 young people, arrived punctually at 8:00 a.m. at our residence. My family and I had already packed our clothes to get ahead and keep these belongings in order.
The moving team disassembled some furniture, like the bed and dining table, and packed each of our belongings in boxes and with special material to prevent bumps or damage. I was asked to be present throughout the process to indicate which objects should be taken.
Around 11:00 a.m., the team had already loaded and placed the goods inside the truck. From there, we headed to the new residence in the Costa Sur sector. However, we had to wait until 1:00 p.m. to comply with the schedule established by the P.H. for the move.
At the aforementioned time, the team began moving in and assembling the furniture. In less than two hours, our new house already had its furniture in place and many boxes to unpack. But that work was no longer Extreme Movers' responsibility.
We must say that all the furniture arrived in perfect condition. In addition, the young movers were always careful and attentive to my instructions. And of course, they complied with biosafety measures, such as the correct use of masks and constant application of alcohol gel.
